.:: band bio ::.
Indianapolis quintet HASTE THE DAY, are a band set out to bring something new and exciting to the overly redundant ‘metallic hardcore’ sound so common in the scene these days. Where their contemporaries try and try again but fail, HASTE THE DAY, deliver their craft with confidence and conviction.
This is best evident on their sophomore effort, "When Everything Falls", which has moments of breakdown-filled bluster, tempered by beautiful, well-written melodies, layered vocal harmonies, and catchy choruses that’ll lodge themselves in your brain for days at a time. But HTD are more than a band that fits some pre-designed mold. They go beyond it, and they do things a little differently. For one thing, they’ve been a stable, tight knit bunch since their formation in 2002 and the release of their debut, "Burning Bridges", in 2004. Sure, HTD haven’t experienced the band member turnover that oftentimes cripples most young bands, and that allows band chemistry to remain firmly in tact. The members are on the same page, individually and as a unit, which explains why their music is so tightly crafted on "When Everything Falls", which has as much Swedish death metal influence as it does shimmery pop influence. "When Everything Falls" was recorded in Vancouver with noted veteran producer GGGarth Richardson (From Autumn To Ashes, Rage Against The Machine, Mudvayne) behind the boards. Musically, the album bares is sharpened fangs over and over, but more than just ‘stomping around in a mosh pit’ music, "When Everything Falls" sets itself apart from HTD’s peers by the positive energy that runs though every note and lyric on the record. Proving to be so much more than a metalcore record, HTD are striving to use more thought and execution than many of the bands in the scene. It’s their succinct songwriting, those unforgettable choruses that you’ll find yourself singing days after you’ve shut the record off, and the positive energy that giveHaste The Day a leg up in the scene. Ultimately, "When Everything Falls" is a record that will remain standing.
